Awesome! this bib is so confortable. Really well made.
After owning several pairs of FRC Pro bib shorts I thought I would give these lightweight versions a try. They remind me a bit of the old Tenax Laser shorts in their venting for cooling. The bibs fit well just and true to size just like the regular FRC Pros, but I prefer the design of the braces on these, they are much more comfortable. The only improvement I would suggest is adding the knit leg cuff from the FRC pro shorts.
I’ve only wore these twice. So far I love them. 1st time was a short little 127 miler, the 2nd time was this past weekend on a 211 ride. You can’t go wrong this the FR-C Pro Lyte bibs.
These are GREAT hot weather bibs. They seem to be (maybe ?) just a tad bit cooler than my EXCELLENT Lungo bibs -- but they BOTH exhibit that typical, one off quality that the classic Giordana cycling clothes gives us. I have another pair of Giordana's on the way the EXO FR-C bibs so I will soon be experiencing their exceptional compression, too. I am 5' 11" right at 200 lb. so I could wear either a medium or large in domestic Specialized bibs but I like a tighter fit so I used the medium. In the Giordana / European brands I wear a XL size. The biycycle requires us to touch it in three places - with the feet, the butt and the hands. These are the places where it is ESSENTIAL for you to HAVE the BEST feel and fit WITH the most COMFORT that your body ask for AND needs. Granted, for the most of us this is limited by what you can afford at the time you are buying it. As everyone who rides frequently KNOWS, cycling represents a JOY - a REAL JOY for those of us who ride - BUT cycling IS a sport WITH suffering. Yes, that means we ALL suffer on certain days on those longer or harder rides - yes THOSE days. In my opinion the shoes are DEFINITELY critical, yes very critical indeed. Gloves are more of a personal choice in my opinion. The gloves REALLY do help someone who has a problem with their ulnar nerve tingling and/or their hands fall asleep while riding - like maybe on a really rough road - everyone IS different. Personally I wear gloves, mainly because I want the protection they offer to my hands if I go down - so that is why I use them. On the other hand when it comes to riding with shorts or bib shorts that have a chamois now THAT is something EACH rider WILL notice - whether it is your first ride with 'em or your 1000th time - you WILL NOTICE YOUR RIDING SHORTS. What I am saying is I wear bib shorts, so what I look for is invisibility - it's like I DO NOT EVEN KNOW I AM WEARING ANYTHING, I'M ***** - FINALLY !!! OK, seriously now, standing and walking then assuming the cycling position are two totally different things - TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT FEELINGS. The feeling that the bibs give me compared to shorts is from my shoulders to my knees makes me feel like - well like I'm a spring - ready to spin. It's like being in the cockpit of a formula one race car, or better yet, a fast jet fighter plane. EXCELLENT compression from strategically located materials with the correct surface tension designed to corespond with the correct panel placement DOES massage and stimulate the body's muscles for a LOT MORE endurance. Then when the moisture is rapidly dried by being wicked away from the body this makes for a MUCH GREATER COMFORT LEVEL. This is what the technical material offers you as are sweating during your physical workout. I saved what I consider the BEST THING, for the last thing about Giordana shorts - the chamois! It WILL NOT MOVE, BUNCH UP, PINCH OR GRAB. It is supple, it stays put, it just DISAPEARS underneath you. What this means is the alo vera treated Cirro S chamois with the copa mondial (male's pouch) is just - well - "il migliore" (Italian = THE BEST). Take care of your bike clothes and they will take care of you. Don't be lazy, do it like the 'ol pros did it. Get your detergent and wear them into the shower, soak and remove. Then hand wash and rinse them thoroughly and clean yourself up. Wring the shorts out carefully, hang them up - now your done! . It just takes a minute to wash them by hand and let them air dry. Take care of them and they will take care of you for many years !
I have worn these bibs about a dozen times and they have been much cooler than standard bibs on long hot rides. I will say that you have to shimmy into them a little carefully because of the venting in the thighs, but once on they are incredibly comfortable.
