BRUSHSTROKE CAMO COLLECTION
Brushstroke Camo is a collaboration between Giordana and Ambassador Jensen Esteves. Drawing inspiration from a desire to blend in, this kit has the ability to also stand out on the road. Jensen chose this pattern as an homage to his birthplace, the Philippines.
Camouflage: the idea of taking something and rendering it invisible is to hide appearance, to blend in with the surroundings.
BLENDING IN
Moving from the Philippines to California and then to New York, each time I was in a new place, my initial instinct was to blend in, to camouflage myself. Brushstroke camo is one of the earliest designs known and initially designed for British Army paratroopers. This pattern was briefly used by the Philippine Military beginning in 1977.
STANDING OUT
I’ve always felt a need to do the opposite and it is one of the reasons I gravitated towards camo. Not just the patterns, the colors, the science, the history, but that its purpose is to make one invisible but when used differently, it can allow one to stand out and be seen.

BEHIND THE COLLAB
"Take a look closer and one can find cities where I’ve lived. Look a little harder and one will find name of my wife and kid– Maia and Luca. A gentle reminder to pay attention to the details and when I wear this kit on a ride, they are always with me.
When I’m not riding bikes, most of my time is spent with my family. I am lucky to be a dad to two young sons who love the outdoors. I work in healthcare as a registered nurse, a role that I have been in for over a decade. Like cycling, working in healthcare has provided vast experience, stories, friends and opened so many doors. My list of interests is long and running – plants, photography, art, and collecting vintage clothing and furniture are at the top."
